Kegels For Premature Ejaculation: Do Kegel Exercises Help PE?

Kegel exercises,  which are named after Dr. Arnold Kegel, are contractions of the pelvic floor muscles, known as the pubococcygeus (PC) muscles. These exercises, which are used by both men and women for a number of benefits, are becoming more popular as a way to improve male sexual performance.

Kegel exercises are believed to help with erectile dysfunction and erection quality, and can even make orgasms more powerful – but can Kegels help reduce premature ejaculation?

Do Kegels Help Premature Ejaculation?

Yes, Kegels are effective in preventing premature ejaculation and are a great choice for men with PE. Performing these exercises strengthens the urinary sphincter as well as other muscles involved in ejaculation.

In a 2014, findings of a study presented at the European Congress of Urology showed that 82.5% of male participants with lifelong PE experienced a more than a 400% increase in the time it took to ejaculate. This was after only 12 weeks of doing Kegels. (1)

The study involved 40 male participants between the ages of 19 and 46 who experienced premature ejaculation. They were instructed how to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles which were performed for 12 weeks.

The men had previously tried a number of treatments without significant improvements. The average ejaculation time for the men was 31.7 seconds at the beginning of the trial, but this rose to 146.2 seconds by the end the 12 week period of pelvic floor exercises – that’s a greater than 400% increase.

How Do Kegels Help Prevent Premature Ejaculation?

Performing Kegels improves a number of male sexual functions, including helping to achieve and maintaining an erection, and enhancing orgasm intensity.  By strengthening the pelvic floor muscles with these exercises, men may also be able to gain more control over their ejaculation reflex and delay their orgasm.

You can also do Kegels while you are having sex to delay ejaculation. This works because squeezing your PC muscles sends a message to your brain that you need to urinate, resulting in ejaculation being put on hold.

Whenever you feel close to orgasm, do a few quick Kegels to temporarily prevent ejaculating. Performing this technique will also gradually create a build-up of sexual energy for a more powerful orgasm.

How To Perform Kegels For PE

Performing Kegels for premature ejaculation will strengthen the bulbocavernosus and ischiocavernosus muscles located in the pelvic floor area. These muscles are located around the penis, and become active when it is aroused.

To locate your PC muscles, stop and start your stream the next time you go to pee. You can also squeeze your anus as if you’re trying to prevent yourself from passing gas. Those muscles that you feel contracting are the ones to work.

This simple squeeze will strengthen your PC muscles. If you do it correctly, your penis may “jump” slightly. You can also check that you are doing it correctly by placing your fingers behind your testicles, and feeling for the muscles tightening.

Here are the basic steps to perform Kegel exercises:

  1. Start by finding the right pelvic floor muscles. To do this, try to stop the flow of urine when you are using the bathroom.
  2. Once you have located the correct muscles, squeeze and lift the pelvic floor muscles for a count of three.
  3. Relax the muscles for a count of three.
  4. Repeat the process for a set of 10 to 15 repetitions, working your way up to doing them three or more times a day.

Kegel exercises may take some time to have an effect on premature ejaculation, so it’s important to be patient and consistent in your exercise routine. It’s best to check with a doctor or therapist if you have any underlying medical conditions that could be causing your premature ejaculation.

Other Ways to Treat Premature Ejaculation

It’s important to note that Kegel exercises are only one aspect of premature ejaculation treatment, and they may also need to be used in combination with other therapies and lifestyle changes.  You can also consider other forms of natural PE treatment besides doing Kegel exercises, or to compliment your Kegels.

Some sprays and creams have anesthetics, which you can use to temporarily de-sensitize your penis. This requires a little planning as you will need to apply the product about 10 minutes prior to sex, and you’ll usually wash it off just before your sexual encounter.

VigRX Delay Spray and VigRX Delay Wipes are both excellent penis desensitizers for treating PE.

PE supplements are also an option. ProSolution Plus is a supplement that was tested in a triple-blind clinical trial by the American Journal of Therapeutics and was shown to have excellent results. At the end of the study, participants reported the following improvements:

  • Premature ejaculation reduced by 64%
  • 48% improvement in getting and keeping an erection
  • 67% improvement in erection quality
  • 78% greater sexual satisfaction

If you are currently taking prescription medications or have a pre-existing health condition, talk to your doctor before you taking any new supplements. In certain cases, side effects can occur.

For those who want to take their PE training to the next level, the Multiple Orgasm Trigger program is for you. This program teaches you a number of little-known techniques that go beyond Kegel exercises, including the “breath-holding” and “pinching” techniques.

These methods will enable you to not just delay and prolong your ejaculation, but to experience two or more orgasms – without losing your erection or ejaculating.

What’s more, this program isn’t just for those with premature ejaculation issues, it can also help men with health conditions, disabilities, sexually-related trauma, and pornography addiction as well. For more information, check out the Multiple Orgasm Trigger website.
